OUR FREDERICKSBURG THEATER COMPANY VOLUNTEER TROUP - PUTTING THE COMMUNITY IN COMMUNITY THEATER
The Fredericksburg Community Theater is home to hundreds of volunteers each season: actors, singers, dancers, technicians, carpenters, costumers, ushers, greeters, box office, publicity, stage crew, and theater — they are all part of the fabric our theater troupe. Central to our success through the years are the many community members that make all the magic manifest into live entertainment! FTC is very fortunate to have a network of talent, both on stage and off stage that donate countless hours to bring our stage to life. FTC offers mainstage productions, special events, and three semesters of youth theater classes. Our robust schedule means there is a talent for every task and a task for every talent. Please register to become part of our volunteer theater family.

If you are new to town or even a seasoned Fredericksburg resident, this is the place to try something new and meet some of the most creative people in the Texas Hill Country.
What do you WANT do?
BACKSTAGE
Set Construction/Painting
If you’ve seen our shows, you know how incredible our sets can be. We need help building, repurposing, painting, and then striking the set! While it is great to have volunteers with some building experience, we will teach anyone willing to learn. Day and night volunteer times are available. Props
Being a part of our prop team is a chance to gather and create “properties” (items typically handled by the actor onstage). If you like antique and thrift shopping on a budget, this is the perfect opportunity for you. We could use both daytime help and help during the run of the productions. Lighting and Sound
If you like the technical side of a show but don’t have any experience in it, FTC will provide training for those volunteers who are available during the run of the entire production. We need light board operators, spotlight operators, and sound board operators. This is a great opportunity for those who love the arts and want to contribute but prefer to remain behind the scenes, plus you’d be able to watch the show each performance from your booth!Costumes and Makeup
Love fashion and playing dress up? At FTC, that is our job! Volunteer in Fredericksburg’s biggest closet and help our costume designers. If you have experience and love to show, great! But we will never turn anyone willing to help away. We will teach anyone willing to learn to sew. We also need volunteers who are handy with a glue gun and small paintbrushes. Most of the volunteer hours are during the day, but we also need dressers during the run of the show to help actors during quick changes and fix any loose buttons or hems. If you love hair and makeup, our actors would appreciate your help.
